In London, hundreds of Catalans took Piccadilly Circus at the same time and for the same reason. Workers, business travellers, tourists, students, Catalans from all walks of life gathered beneath one of central London's best-recognised monuments, the statue of Eros, to join their fellow citizens to press their home government to go beyond the current unsatisfactory home rule and to work towards Catalonia's own state.
